Medicare
Education
|
Medicare can be one of the trickiest things you will ever come across; that is if you aren’t properly educated on the ends and outs of Medicare and what types of options you have.
Let American Boomer Network be your helping hand when searching for the answers to your tough questions. A American Boomer Network Advocate will be able to answer questions on topics ranging from general Medicare information to what types of Medicare products are in your area, their differences, and how they tie into Original Medicare (A&B).

Medicare
Advantage
|
Medicare Advantage Plans are offered by private companies that are approved by Medicare, and include your Part A & B coverage. As Medicare.gov states, Medicare pays a fixed amount for your care every month to the companies offering Medicare Advantage Plans. These companies must follow rules set by Medicare. However, each Medicare Advantage Plan can charge different out-of-pocket costs and have different rules for how you get services (like whether you need a referral to see a specialist or if you have to go to only doctors, facilities, or suppliers that belong to the plan for nonemergency or non-urgent care). These rules can change each year. ( www.medicare.gov/).

Supplements (Medigap)
|
Medicare Supplements help pay some of the health care costs that Original Medicare (A&B) doesn’t cover. If you are in Original Medicare and you have a Medicare Supplement as well, Medicare will first pay 80% of the Medicare-approved amounts for covered health care costs. After that your Medigap policy pays its share. Because of this coverage, Medicare Supplements have higher premiums than Medicare Advantage, which are often times $0 or very low premium plans.
